OVERVIEW
FranklinCovey Project Management™ courses are offered in two different formats. Whether you take the one-day course or the two-day course will depend on your needs and how many projects you have to manage.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND & WHY
Many organisations today face out-of-control costs due to projects that are full of changes, past deadlines, and over budgets. Companies are plagued by projects that constantly need fixing because they weren't managed right the first time. FranklinCovey Project Management™ training will demonstrate not only how to manage a project effectively, but also how to balance multiple projects along with your other daily tasks and commitments. Learn how to focus on the right project at the right time. As a result, you don't waste time on false starts or on corrections and additions later in the project.

KEY LEARNING OUTLINE
One-Day Training: FranklinCovey Project Management™ - An Approach That Really Works When it comes to effective Project Management™, the challenge for most individuals is not "How do I manage this project?" but "How do I balance multiple projects plus my other tasks and commitments?" This is why we developed FranklinCovey Project Management™ - An Approach that Really Works. This one-day, introductory training is ideal for those with no previous Project Management™ training, but who find that more and more of their work assignments are project-oriented. You'll learn not only how to manage a project effectively but also how to focus on the right project at the right time, or "What do I need to do today?"
You'll acquire the skills to:
- Implement a simple, four-step Project Management™ process of visualise, plan, implement and close
- Interview key stakeholders
- Create clear vision statements that reflect key stakeholder buy-in
- Break the project into manageable pieces to create a plan and a timeline
- Ensure that appropriate "go" or "no-go" decisions are made during the process
- Co-ordinate project workload back into weekly and daily schedules
- Close projects by evaluating success and identifying future improvements
Two-Day Training: FranklinCovey Project Management™ - An In-Depth Approach This course is a practical training solution for project managers and those who work on complex projects involving several hundred tasks or more. Individuals and entire project work teams are encouraged to attend the training together and work on their actual projects.
In addition to the learning skills described in our one-day programme, this two-day training also offers the following:
- More time spent on hands-on exercises
- A more in-depth look at managing complex projects using additional tools such as the Project Timetable (Gantt chart), Project Initiation Tool and Project Tool
- Emphasis on balancing constraints (time, schedule, resources)
- How to use the Information Record to control and track communication
- More work on the actual project you bring to the workshop
- A closer look at risk analysis and hotspot action plans
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
"I had a major goal written down for 15 months that I didn't act on - it was too overwhelming. In the programme, I learned to break down goals into 'doable' tasks. Since then, I've made more progress in one month than I expected to make in six."
Abigail Dougherty, Project Manager
